What is the average cost difference between a conventional drain field and septic and an engineered system?

We are having a house built in northern Alabama and the perc test came back as requiring an engineered system with over 600 ft of field lines. I'm not sure if the price increase the builder is asking is reasonable over a conventional system as priced with the home.
